The Startup Roundtable

A Sunday afternoon roundtable at Mala on Dale Street for people actively building a company or seriously working on an idea. It began as a handful of founders meeting over coffee, some mid-raise and some who had raised before, and has opened up to the wider Manchester community. The format is guided but informal and the organisers are explicit about what it is not: no pitches, no panels, no sales agendas. Conversation covers validating ideas, routes to funding from bootstrapping through angels, VCs and grants, which accelerators are actually worth the time, finding co-founders and early hires, and the early growth problems nobody warns you about. Two hours, Sunday afternoon. Why go: honest founder talk is hard to find in a city with a crowded networking calendar, and the no-pitch rule is enforced. Best for pre-seed and seed founders who want peers rather than an audience.
