Weekend of AI

The Library of Mistakes — Edinburgh's financial-history library in the West End — runs three days of conversations about AI, deliberately pitched away from the usual industry framing. Friday 30 October opens with workshops aimed at students: how to use AI, and how to build a career as it becomes ever-present. Those sessions feed the Saturday and Sunday discussions, which the organisers say will cover what AI actually is, what it might do to the economy, who it will be good for, how it changes investment management, and the new security and governance risks it creates — alongside the question of what it means to be human living with it. Being Halloween, Saturday includes a film screening. Free to attend.
