GITEX AI EUROPE returns to Messe Berlin for two days that position the city as the epicentre of Europe's next-generation AI economy. BLISS — die Berlin Learning & Intelligent Systems Society — begrüßt Dr. Fazl Barez, Senior Research Fellow an der University of Oxford, zu einem 45-minütigen Vortrag über eines der zentralen Probleme moderner AI: zu verstehen, wie Systeme tatsächlich Entscheidungen treffen und wie sich sicheres Verhalten überprüfen lässt. Barez forscht zu Interpretability, AI Safety und Governance; der Vortrag widmet sich dem Schritt von manueller Interpretability hin zu automatisierten Methoden, die auf Frontier-Systeme skalieren. Der Abend richtet sich an ML-Studierende und Promovierende, an Forschende aus Wissenschaft und Industrie sowie an alle, die sich ernsthaft mit AI Safety befassen, und klingt bei Networking mit kostenlosen Getränken und Pizza an der TU Berlin aus. BLISS — the Berlin Learning & Intelligent Systems Society — hosts Dr Fazl Barez, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, for a 45-minute talk on one of the central problems in modern AI: understanding how systems actually make decisions, and how to verify they behave safely. Barez's research spans interpretability, AI safety and governance, and the talk focuses on moving interpretability from a manual craft towards automated methods that can scale to frontier systems. The evening is pitched at ML students and PhD candidates, academic and industry researchers, and anyone seriously engaged with AI safety, and wraps up with networking over complimentary drinks and pizza at TU Berlin.
