TOG Hackerspace, Kylemore Road

with Roman (Presenter, TOG Hackerspace)

Ever built an electronics project on a breadboard and wondered how to turn it into a finished printed circuit board? At this TOG Hackerspace session, Roman gives a live, end-to-end demonstration of the PCB design process using KiCad, the free and open-source electronics design suite. Starting from a blank project, he walks through creating a schematic, converting it into a PCB layout, positioning and routing components, and preparing and submitting the finished design to a manufacturer — using a deliberately simple LED-and-IC circuit so the whole journey stays clear. Ideal for electronics hobbyists, makers and anyone curious about how boards are designed. Note: this is a live demonstration rather than a hands-on workshop, and places are strictly limited to 20.
